One of the biggest issues with serious convos on this forum is that users like to derail them. It's hard to prevent convos from being derailed when the forum was designed with free speech in mind, or so the (original) about page said.

I propose we add a new rule that instructs users to respect the wishes of the original poster and not "shitpost" when the thread was intended to be serious, or even non-serious, depending on the context.

Thoughts?

I think you're right. There is a severe lack of moderation going on at this very moment. I mean, people are just running rampant, doing things willy-nilly. The rules exist for a reason.

I agree wholeheartedly. This type of chicanery is why I believe current_ should be reinstated as moderator. She knows what's best for the forum, and is a member of the "old guard" that I was at least once a part of when I was more active. I hope we can clean the forum up together.

In light of recent events, I have given moderator to current_ so that we can have tighter control over the mechanisms of this here website.

Walter himself would be proud of such things.

Why would the admin of a forum willfully create alternate accounts and derail posts?

He wouldn't. There's a guy on here named Dwight Schrute who has debunked all this stuff.

The forum is better with fewer rules in my opinion.

Moderation is important. Without it, there would be chaos.
