Why I hate The German Language

As a preface to my argument, I would like to make it clear I am speaking from personal experience.

Anyways, let's move on.

Die, Der, And Das

One of the many reasons I hate German is due to the need to memorize the form of the word "the" for every word. Should I really have to care if cheese is feminine? Who wants to memorize Die Kase, Der Kase, and Das Kase, when you could just use a standardized form of "the".

Pronouns

I dislike the need to have pronouns for words, such as "eure" and "dein", now for variations of "Ein" and "Eine" I can understand.

Grammar

I dislike the need to use the verb before the pronoun, but that's just adjusting from English.

Conclusion

What are your thoughts on the German language? I look forward to seeing your thoughts and arguments.

english is both simple but very complicated in many ways, for example, the contractions are very easy to grasp, and there's a bunch more contractions we rarely use, such as "shan't" which is shall not. shalln't is an archaic contraction of shall not.

Very interesting, I think english is unique because it uses a prefix-suffix system, which is why we're able to make all sorts of tinky dinky words.

i'm also pretty sure we got the contraction thing from french since french also has things like this
for example, instead of je ai you would say j'ai which means i have, and aime, which is like, you would say j'aime.

In Spanish as well, "a la" would be "ala"

As a German speaker (that's very far from fluent) myself, I loathe the cases in German. The only real way to remember them (and this is especially true with the dative and genitive cases) is by tedious memorization and having to use articles both definite and indefinite in a real context by speaking to people and having them correct you. I haven't been to Germany yet but from what I understand it's much easier to understand the rules of the language by spending time there and being forced to speak it.

The best way that I can distinguish pronouns dein from eure is that the former one is used when talking to several people, much like your, and dein is used to talk to a single person, like thine. The English language used to have varying forms of pronouns but has since evolved (or devolved, depending on how you look at the degradation of the language) to use a single form and variation thereof when talking to people. Anyways, eure-your and dein-thine is the way that I correlate the two in my brain. I hope this helps.

This does help; I view the degradation of languages to just be developments, as we now have several branches forming of English that are degraded, such as the so called "African American English"
